CommsOn’s interface is currently in English. You may email support in your preferred language; please tell us which language you would like us to use.
CommsOn is published by 1 Up Printworks LLC. For help, email info@1upworks.com. Include your app version (at the bottom of Settings), Quest and iPhone models, operating-system versions, and any error code. Do not send private messages, contact lists, passwords, or unredacted logs.
To connect, keep your iPhone nearby with Bluetooth on. In CommsOn, open Settings → iPhone setup, choose your phone and confirm matching pairing codes if prompted. On iPhone, open Settings → Bluetooth → the information button beside Quest and turn on Show Notifications. Sync Contacts is optional: enable it only if you want to import contacts. Return to CommsOn and connect. The connection panel shows which phone you selected.
For connection-refused errors such as 0xC3, unlock your iPhone, check Bluetooth permissions, and try connecting again. See the app’s connection help before re-pairing. Do not uninstall or clear app data as your first troubleshooting step.
Missing alerts? Check that new-message alerts are on and Do Not Disturb is off in CommsOn, then check Quest system notification settings. When you are already viewing a conversation, the app may suppress a redundant alert. Open Settings → Troubleshooting → Test a notification → Start test, then minimize CommsOn before the 15-second timer expires. Tell support whether you saw a popup, heard a bell, and what result the test reported. A successful API result alone does not prove that the alert appeared or sounded.
To update, press and hold the app tile and choose Update, or open See details. The version at the bottom of CommsOn Settings identifies the installed build; a release-channel listing can describe a newer build.
Up to 1,000 messages are saved on your Quest across all conversations; the oldest entries are removed as new messages exceed that limit. Earlier iPhone history is not imported, and messages received while disconnected may be missing. Reading messages in CommsOn does not mark them read on iPhone, so your phone may repeat its reminder. Deleting messages here does not delete them on iPhone. Refreshing contacts adds or updates entries and keeps previously saved contacts. There is no individual contact-deletion control. Removing the app or clearing its data loses local history and settings; there is no recovery backup.
For Meta Horizon Store purchases, request a refund through Meta Purchase History or Meta Support. Meta determines eligibility under its Content Refund Policy: https://www.meta.com/legal/quest/quest-rift-content-refund-policy/
Eligible purchases generally qualify when requested within 14 days and used for less than 2 hours. Exclusions and applicable consumer rights still apply. If the automated refund option is unavailable, contact Meta Support. Do not delete app data before requesting a refund. You do not need to wait for our troubleshooting response before requesting one. We do not offer a separate money-back guarantee or promise Meta approval.
CommsOn currently supports one-to-one text messaging through a paired iPhone. Photos must be viewed on iPhone. Voice calls, sending photos, group messaging, native reactions, delivery/read receipts and deletion synchronization are not supported. No Mac or iPhone companion app is required. Window placement and notification presentation depend on Quest software and the active experience.
Outgoing replies are limited to 160 text units; some emoji count as more than one. For longer messages, use your iPhone. Settings → Explore CommsOn explains the connection dot, DND, menus and Quest keyboard dictation. Dictation availability depends on Quest system voice typing.
Reporting concerns
Where Meta offers a reporting option for CommsOn, you may use it to report conduct or content concerns. You can also contact info@1upworks.com. Do not include unrelated conversations, contact lists or sensitive screenshots. CommsOn cannot block another person's phone number or remove messages from their device; use your iPhone's messaging controls for those actions. This support channel is not an emergency service.
